La technologie consiste en une bandelette de test sur laquelle un utilisateur d\u00e9pose une goutte de sang.  Suite \u00e0 une r\u00e9action \u00e9lectrochimique sur la bande, les donn\u00e9es sont transmises au smartphone par une s\u00e9rie de tapotements sur l&rsquo;\u00e9cran tactile, un peu comme le code Morse.  Astucieusement, la bandelette de test est sans batterie et tire son alimentation du flash de l&rsquo;appareil photo du smartphone, et la bandelette peut fonctionner avec n&rsquo;importe quel smartphone avec un \u00e9cran tactile standard (et un flash d&rsquo;appareil photo). Accro\u00eetre l&rsquo;acc\u00e8s aux technologies de diagnostic pourrait aider davantage de personnes \u00e0 prendre conscience de leur \u00e9tat et \u00e0 entreprendre des changements de mode de vie pour \u00e9viter le d\u00e9veloppement d&rsquo;un diab\u00e8te de type 2 \u00e0 part enti\u00e8re.  Cette derni\u00e8re technologie vise \u00e0 faire exactement cela en exploitant la puissance du smartphone omnipr\u00e9sent.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Dans le d\u00e9pistage conventionnel, une personne applique une goutte de sang sur une bandelette r\u00e9active, o\u00f9 le sang r\u00e9agit chimiquement avec les enzymes de la bandelette.  Un glucom\u00e8tre est utilis\u00e9 pour analyser cette r\u00e9action et fournir une lecture de la glyc\u00e9mie \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Anandghan Waghmare, un chercheur impliqu\u00e9 dans l&rsquo;\u00e9tude.  \u00abNous avons pris la m\u00eame bandelette de test et ajout\u00e9 des circuits peu co\u00fbteux qui communiquent les donn\u00e9es g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9es par cette r\u00e9action \u00e0 n&rsquo;importe quel smartphone par le biais de tapotements simul\u00e9s sur l&rsquo;\u00e9cran.  GlucoScreen traite ensuite les donn\u00e9es et affiche le r\u00e9sultat directement sur le t\u00e9l\u00e9phone, alertant la personne si elle est \u00e0 risque afin qu&rsquo;elle sache qu&rsquo;elle doit faire un suivi avec son m\u00e9decin.<!-- ASYNC UAT M - 300x250(t,r) - --><\/p>\n<p><!-- END ASYNC UAT M - 300x250(t,r) --><\/p>\n<p>Le syst\u00e8me ne n\u00e9cessite pas de batterie et consiste \u00e0 fixer un capteur solaire au flash de l&rsquo;appareil photo du smartphone.  Lorsque le t\u00e9l\u00e9phone est utilis\u00e9 pour obtenir les donn\u00e9es de glyc\u00e9mie \u00e0 partir de la bandelette de test, l&rsquo;application engagera le flash du smartphone, alimentant la bandelette de test afin qu&rsquo;elle puisse relayer les donn\u00e9es.  Astucieusement, les bandes communiquent avec le t\u00e9l\u00e9phone de mani\u00e8re haptique, en utilisant une s\u00e9rie de touches sur l&rsquo;\u00e9cran tactile du smartphone pour relayer les donn\u00e9es.
