La cheville utilise des capteurs \u00e9lectromyographiques plac\u00e9s sur les sites des muscles du membre r\u00e9siduel qui transmettent alors les intentions de mouvement du porteur.  Jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9montr\u00e9 que le syst\u00e8me aide au contr\u00f4le postural, qui dans ce contexte fait r\u00e9f\u00e9rence aux nombreux mouvements complexes et inconscients que les muscles de nos jambes effectuent pour maintenir l&rsquo;\u00e9quilibre et nous maintenir debout, m\u00eame lorsque nous sommes en grande partie immobiles.  Auparavant, les amput\u00e9s des membres inf\u00e9rieurs avaient parfois du mal \u00e0 maintenir le contr\u00f4le postural, m\u00eame avec des proth\u00e8ses robotis\u00e9es.      <\/p>\n<p>Parfois, m\u00eame se tenir debout au m\u00eame endroit n\u00e9cessite un certain effort, en particulier pour les personnes amput\u00e9es d\u2019un membre inf\u00e9rieur.  Vous n\u2019\u00eates peut-\u00eatre pas conscient de l\u2019activit\u00e9 de vos muscles pour maintenir constamment l\u2019\u00e9quilibre et la posture, m\u00eame lorsque vous \u00eates immobile.  Cela a \u00e9t\u00e9 difficile \u00e0 recr\u00e9er dans des proth\u00e8ses robotiques, mais cette derni\u00e8re technologie vise \u00e0 aider gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une cheville robotique capable de surveiller l&rsquo;activit\u00e9 musculaire du membre r\u00e9siduel et de proc\u00e9der \u00e0 des ajustements en cons\u00e9quence pour aider \u00e0 maintenir l&rsquo;\u00e9quilibre.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Ce travail s&rsquo;est concentr\u00e9 sur le &lsquo;contr\u00f4le postural&rsquo;, ce qui est \u00e9tonnamment compliqu\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Helen Huang, l&rsquo;une des d\u00e9veloppeurs de la nouvelle technologie.  \u00ab Fondamentalement, lorsque nous sommes immobiles, notre corps s\u2019adapte constamment afin de maintenir notre stabilit\u00e9.  Par exemple, si quelqu&rsquo;un nous heurte alors que nous faisons la queue, nos jambes effectuent une grande vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de mouvements dont nous n&rsquo;avons m\u00eame pas n\u00e9cessairement conscience afin de nous maintenir debout.  Nous travaillons avec des personnes amput\u00e9es d\u2019un membre inf\u00e9rieur, et elles nous disent que parvenir \u00e0 ce type de stabilit\u00e9 avec des proth\u00e8ses constitue un d\u00e9fi de taille.  Et cette \u00e9tude d\u00e9montre que les chevilles proth\u00e9tiques robotis\u00e9es contr\u00f4l\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019aide de signaux \u00e9lectromyographiques (EMG) sont exceptionnellement efficaces pour permettre aux utilisateurs d\u2019atteindre cette stabilit\u00e9 naturelle.  <!-- ASYNC UAT M - 300x250(t,r) - --><\/p>\n<p><!-- END ASYNC UAT M - 300x250(t,r) --><\/p>\n<p>Les chercheurs ont test\u00e9 leur dispositif robotique aupr\u00e8s de cinq volontaires ayant d\u00e9j\u00e0 subi une amputation d\u2019une jambe sous le genou.  \u00ab Fondamentalement, les capteurs sont plac\u00e9s sur les muscles au niveau du site de l&rsquo;amputation \u00bb, a expliqu\u00e9 Aaron Fleming, un autre chercheur impliqu\u00e9 dans l&rsquo;\u00e9tude.  \u00ab Lorsqu\u2019un participant \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tude pense \u00e0 d\u00e9placer le membre amput\u00e9, cela envoie des signaux \u00e9lectriques \u00e0 travers le muscle r\u00e9siduel du membre inf\u00e9rieur.  Les capteurs captent ces signaux \u00e0 travers la peau et traduisent ces signaux en commandes pour la proth\u00e8se.<\/p>\n<p>Les volontaires ont ensuite \u00e9t\u00e9 soumis \u00e0 une perturbation convenue \u00e0 l&rsquo;avance qui pourrait perturber leur \u00e9quilibre, pour voir comment la cheville robotique les aidait \u00e0 maintenir leur \u00e9quilibre.  \u00ab\u00a0Plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment, le prototype robotique a permis aux participants \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9tude de modifier leur strat\u00e9gie de contr\u00f4le postural\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Huang.  \u00ab Pour les personnes dont le membre inf\u00e9rieur est intact, la stabilit\u00e9 posturale commence au niveau de la cheville.  Pour les personnes ayant perdu leur membre inf\u00e9rieur, elles doivent normalement compenser le manque de contr\u00f4le de la cheville.
