Cette technologie est sans pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent car elle permet aux chercheurs d\u2019\u00e9tudier les interactions complexes entre diff\u00e9rents organes au cours d\u2019une maladie.  De plus, cela permet \u00e9galement des tests de m\u00e9dicaments plus complets qui \u00e9tudient simultan\u00e9ment les effets des candidats-m\u00e9dicaments sur plusieurs syst\u00e8mes organiques.  Appel\u00e9 Lattice, le syst\u00e8me constitue une avanc\u00e9e significative par rapport aux syst\u00e8mes pr\u00e9existants. <em>in vitro<\/em> syst\u00e8mes, qui permettent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement aux chercheurs d\u2019\u00e9tudier uniquement deux tissus organiques \u00e0 la fois.  L&rsquo;ensemble du syst\u00e8me s&rsquo;ins\u00e8re dans un espace de la taille d&rsquo;une bo\u00eete \u00e0 chaussures d&rsquo;enfant et peut \u00eatre connect\u00e9 \u00e0 un ordinateur pour contr\u00f4ler la mani\u00e8re dont les milieux riches en nutriments entrent et sortent de chaque syst\u00e8me organique.<\/p>\n<p>Les syst\u00e8mes microfluidiques ont pr\u00e9cipit\u00e9 un changement de paradigme dans la mani\u00e8re dont nous pouvons explorer les ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes physiologiques et pathologiques.  Ces dispositifs repr\u00e9sentent une m\u00e9thode efficace et sophistiqu\u00e9e pour \u00e9muler des syst\u00e8mes organiques complexes et sont hautement miniaturis\u00e9s, r\u00e9duisant consid\u00e9rablement la quantit\u00e9 de cellules, d&rsquo;\u00e9quipements suppl\u00e9mentaires et de r\u00e9actifs co\u00fbteux n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 une telle recherche.  Ils battent les traditionnels <em>in vitro<\/em> des \u00e9quipements tels que de grandes plaques \u00e0 puits et des bo\u00eetes de P\u00e9tri, dans le sol sur de nombreux fronts. Cette plateforme est bien mieux adapt\u00e9e pour imiter ce qui se passe dans le corps, car elle peut simuler plusieurs organes \u00e0 la fois.   <!-- ASYNC UAT M - 300x250(t,r) - --><\/p>\n<p><!-- END ASYNC UAT M - 300x250(t,r) --><\/p>\n<p>Les \u00e9chantillons de tissus organiques sont conserv\u00e9s dans de petits puits, reli\u00e9s par des canaux microfluidiques.  Les chercheurs peuvent contr\u00f4ler le flux de milieux riches en nutriments vers chaque puits \u00e0 l\u2019aide d\u2019un ordinateur, leur permettant ainsi un contr\u00f4le sans pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent sur la mod\u00e9lisation des maladies.  Jusqu\u2019\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, les chercheurs ont utilis\u00e9 l\u2019appareil pour \u00e9tudier le syndrome des ovaires polykystiques (SOPK).<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Ce que nous pouvons faire avec Lattice, c&rsquo;est commencer \u00e0 manipuler et \u00e0 contr\u00f4ler quel organe est \u00e0 l&rsquo;origine de la maladie\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Kim.  \u00ab Ainsi, dans une exp\u00e9rience, nous pourrions commencer par un ovaire du SOPK pour voir son impact sur le foie ou les muscles.  Une autre exp\u00e9rience pourrait examiner si c\u2019est le taux \u00e9lev\u00e9 d\u2019insuline associ\u00e9 \u00e0 la maladie qui pousse les diff\u00e9rents syst\u00e8mes organiques \u00e0 se comporter de mani\u00e8re erratique.
