Le dispositif, que les chercheurs ont appel\u00e9 FibroSensing Dynamic Soft Reservoir (FSDSR), est con\u00e7u pour r\u00e9sider dans le corps pendant de longues p\u00e9riodes et administrer des m\u00e9dicaments.  Cependant, le syst\u00e8me immunitaire reconna\u00eet g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement ces implants m\u00e9dicaux comme \u00e9trangers et les recouvre d\u2019une \u00e9paisse couche de tissu cicatriciel fibreux, limitant la diffusion des m\u00e9dicaments et conduisant \u00e0 un \u00e9chec \u00e9ventuel.  Ce nouvel implant robotique souple peut se gonfler et se d\u00e9gonfler, comme une cr\u00e9ature marine, ce qui contribue \u00e0 r\u00e9duire la quantit\u00e9 de tissu cicatriciel d\u00e9pos\u00e9 \u00e0 sa surface.  Cependant, dans le cadre d&rsquo;un d\u00e9veloppement cl\u00e9, les chercheurs ont \u00e9galement \u00e9quip\u00e9 l&rsquo;implant d&rsquo;un capteur capable de mesurer la quantit\u00e9 de tissu cicatriciel pr\u00e9sent sur l&rsquo;appareil, lui permettant d&rsquo;utiliser \u00ab l&rsquo;IA \u00bb pour calculer comment lib\u00e9rer la m\u00eame dose de m\u00e9dicament, quel que soit le moment. la quantit\u00e9 de fibrose pr\u00e9sente.<\/p>\n<p>La r\u00e9ponse aux corps \u00e9trangers constitue un obstacle majeur au d\u00e9veloppement d\u2019implants m\u00e9dicaux plus efficaces, tels qu\u2019un pancr\u00e9as artificiel.  Le tissu cicatriciel \u00e9pais qui s\u2019accumule sur ces implants r\u00e9duit consid\u00e9rablement leur dur\u00e9e de vie et limite leur capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 d\u00e9tecter leur environnement et \u00e0 lib\u00e9rer des m\u00e9dicaments en r\u00e9ponse.  Les techniques visant \u00e0 r\u00e9duire cet encrassement biologique, telles que la structuration de la surface des implants m\u00e9dicaux, ont rencontr\u00e9 un succ\u00e8s mitig\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Pour r\u00e9soudre ce probl\u00e8me, ces chercheurs ont cr\u00e9\u00e9 un implant robotique souple d\u2019administration de m\u00e9dicaments qui peut r\u00e9duire la r\u00e9ponse aux corps \u00e9trangers en se gonflant et en se d\u00e9gonflant activement.  Ce mouvement semble perturber le corps, qui ne peut pas d\u00e9poser autant de tissu cicatriciel sur l&rsquo;appareil.  Cet actionnement robotique remplit \u00e9galement un autre objectif, en aidant \u00e0 pousser le m\u00e9dicament liquide hors du dispositif vers son environnement.  Jusqu\u2019ici tout va bien, mais dans cette derni\u00e8re \u00e9tude, les chercheurs sont all\u00e9s plus loin en introduisant \u00ab l\u2019intelligence artificielle \u00bb, selon un communiqu\u00e9 de presse de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Galway.<!-- ASYNC UAT M - 300x250(t,r) - --><\/p>\n<p><!-- END ASYNC UAT M - 300x250(t,r) --><\/p>\n<p>Ils ont incorpor\u00e9 une membrane de d\u00e9tection dans l&rsquo;appareil, capable de d\u00e9tecter la quantit\u00e9 de biosalissure survenue.  Ensuite, l\u2019apprentissage automatique calcule le nombre d\u2019actionnements et la force que le dispositif devra appliquer pour faire passer une dose constante de m\u00e9dicament \u00e0 travers la capsule fibreuse environnante.  De cette mani\u00e8re, la technologie peut continuer \u00e0 fournir un dosage constant du m\u00e9dicament m\u00eame s\u2019il est fortement recouvert de tissu cicatriciel fibrotique.
