Pour les virus dot\u00e9s d\u2019une membrane lipidique, parmi lesquels nombre d\u2019entre eux sont couramment \u00e0 l\u2019origine de maladies, cette nouvelle technique pourrait s\u2019av\u00e9rer fatale.  En ciblant la membrane lipidique, l\u2019approche pourrait contourner la r\u00e9sistance au traitement qui appara\u00eet lorsque les virus mutent pour modifier leurs prot\u00e9ines de surface, qui sont les cibles les plus courantes des m\u00e9dicaments antiviraux conventionnels.  Cette nouvelle approche repose sur une version synth\u00e9tique de peptides antimicrobiens, qui sont naturellement produits par notre syst\u00e8me immunitaire et peuvent cibler des agents pathog\u00e8nes tels que des bact\u00e9ries et des virus.  Ces chercheurs ont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 une version synth\u00e9tique plus stable qu\u2019ils appellent \u00ab pepto\u00efdes \u00bb qui peuvent se lier plus efficacement aux lipides de l\u2019enveloppe virale, perturbant ainsi la membrane virale et d\u00e9truisant la particule virale.<\/p>\n<p>M\u00eame s\u2019il peut sembler morbide de pr\u00e9senter cela comme tel, le temps presse jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la prochaine pand\u00e9mie virale.  Dans le calme qui pr\u00e9c\u00e8de la prochaine temp\u00eate, il est crucial de d\u00e9velopper de nouveaux traitements antiviraux pour que nous soyons mieux pr\u00e9par\u00e9s.  Cependant, les virus sont un adversaire de taille, car ils mutent rapidement leurs prot\u00e9ines de surface, de sorte que les cibles m\u00e9dicamenteuses actuellement pr\u00e9sentes changeront probablement relativement bient\u00f4t.  Cela constitue une limitation majeure de nombreuses strat\u00e9gies antivirales ciblant ces prot\u00e9ines de surface.  Par exemple, nous pouvons voir \u00e0 quelle vitesse le SRAS-CoV-2 a mut\u00e9 pour cr\u00e9er de nouveaux variants ayant des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s diff\u00e9rentes et diff\u00e9rents niveaux de susceptibilit\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019immunit\u00e9 m\u00e9di\u00e9e par le vaccin.<\/p>\n<p>Cependant, un composant des virus ne provient m\u00eame pas du g\u00e9nome viral lui-m\u00eame, mais directement de nos propres cellules.  Il s&rsquo;agit de la membrane virale que de nombreux virus \u00ab volent \u00bb \u00e0 nos propres cellules en for\u00e7ant notre machinerie cellulaire \u00e0 cr\u00e9er de nouvelles particules virales.  Si un tel vol est d\u00e9plorable, il rend le virus vuln\u00e9rable aux traitements ciblant la membrane, et ne permet pas au virus de d\u00e9velopper une strat\u00e9gie de r\u00e9sistance efficace, puisqu\u2019il ne g\u00e9n\u00e8re pas lui-m\u00eame les membranes.      <!-- ASYNC UAT M - 300x250(t,r) - --><\/p>\n<p><!-- END ASYNC UAT M - 300x250(t,r) --><\/p>\n<p>Cette derni\u00e8re technologie cible la membrane virale et s\u2019inspire des peptides antimicrobiens produits naturellement par notre propre syst\u00e8me immunitaire.  De tels peptides peuvent cibler efficacement les virus, mais ils sont relativement instables et pourraient provoquer des effets secondaires s\u2019ils sont administr\u00e9s \u00e0 fortes doses.  Au lieu de cela, ces chercheurs ont con\u00e7u une version synth\u00e9tique appel\u00e9e \u00ab pepto\u00efdes \u00bb, plus stables et plus sp\u00e9cifiques aux membranes virales.  <\/p>\n<p>Jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, les pepto\u00efdes ont montr\u00e9 leur efficacit\u00e9 dans le ciblage de virus tels que le Zika, la fi\u00e8vre de la vall\u00e9e du Rift et le chikungunya.
